Research Paper
Topic: Are Men Necessary? When Sexes Collide by Maureen Dowd
Overview: In this book Dowd examines the state of feminism and the modern relationship
between men and women. Dowd compares the ideals of the women of the feminist
movement and what they fought for to the modern woman and her outlook on the same
topics.
Woking Purpose of Paper: I will take the ideas in this book and compare them against some of
readings of we’ve done this semester. Dowd appears to be a traditional feminist who
would agree more with the originators of the feminist movement than to the modern
woman.
Sources: The assigned readings plus reviews of Dowd’s book.
